It cures what ails ye

Pretty much from the day I started this blog, the semester started really kicking my butt. I've been working my tail off trying to get everything finished but today, today I am officially free for Christmas break. Feels great

My dad has been really sick recently. He has this disease called Myelofibrosis which attacks your bone marrow and leaves in it's place scar tissue, it's pretty much a form of leukemia. Plus he has gout and blood clots and one thing after another. So, being the person that I am, I'm started searching for alternative methods to help relieve his pain. Thank goodness my dad is a good sport. Many of these remedies are just as good for people who aren't sick, so I thought I would share one of the most helpful ones we've tried.

Let me tell you about Apple Cider Vinegar. This stuff is like magic! What is it, you ask? Well, according to webmd.com...
Vinegar is a product of fermentation. This is a process in which sugars in a food are broken down by bacteria and yeast. In the first stage of fermentation, the sugars are turned into alcohol. Then, if the alcohol ferments further, you get vinegar. The word comes from the French, meaning "sour wine." While vinegar can be made from all sorts of things -- like many fruits, vegetables, and grains -- apple cider vinegar comes from pulverized apples. The main ingredient of apple cider vinegar, or any vinegar, is acetic acid.
What does it help? I'm glad you asked!

Diabetes, gout, high cholesterol, blood pressure, CANCER, bad complexion issues, digestion, weight loss, and much more. Of course, results can be different for different people, but it really seemed to help my dad's gout issue, and I starting taking it and I can definitely tell a difference in my complexion. The Bragg Vinegar website also claims that it gives you a healthy youthful glow.
Here's a complete rundown of all the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar, proven by science: Click Here

How to take it...

I read about Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with "The Mother"
Mmm tasty - not!

All you need for health
So I went out and bought it at Kroger. According to the directions you mix 2 tsp. ACV with 8 oz. of hot water and add honey or maple syrup (which I haven't tried) to sweeten it up - drink one or two a day. This is important - DO NOT drink the ACV straight - it can mess up enamel on your teeth and burn your esophagus. But other than that, just sip on this concoction until it's all gone and before you know it you're on your way to a healthier you.

Until next time,
Mary

My 22nd Birthday

Well my birthday was a week ago today, but I didn't have my blog then so I'll talk about it now. I turned 22 years old. Holy crap. When did this happen? I'm not complaining too much, I certainly like being able to order drinks whenever I like. Here are some pictures from my birthday. Aaron and I went to Black Sheep Burritos and Brews on my actual birthday, but I forgot to take pictures of it because I was too busy stuffing my face. These are from my trip to Chili's with my BFF Amber and from my trip to Pt. Pleasant with Aaron to visit his granny and sister.

Visiting the Mothman
I've never been to Pt. Pleasant before and Aaron's Granny drove us around and took me to the Mothman statue and other creepy places. I'm excited to go back and take some pictures in the day light! Then we went to Golden Corral and I must say that the chocolate wonderfall is actually very tasty.

Birthday Haul
And here are my gifts that Aaron got for me! The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was very good. I read it in about a day and a half and ignored all my homework that was piling up. I Love Lucy season 3! I'm so excited to watch this over break. Just Dance 3 is awesome and so is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 on bluray - which I am definitely going to watch on my dad's mega big screen this week. He got me a cute purse and shoes (which I picked out) and some shirts - Paddy's Irish Pub from the show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and a Red Hot Chili Peppers shirt which I have wanted FOREVER! Also he got me The Walking Dead season 1, which we both really wanted.

So that's it about my birthday! It was a good one.

hello world and all who inhabit it

Well, here we are. My very first blog. I've been wanting to start a blog for a while but I just haven't. Let me start out by telling you a little about myself.

1. I'm a senior art education major at Marshall University
2. I'm a guide at Tree Tops Canopy Tour during the spring/summer/fall seasons (this means I get to go ziplining for my job, yeah it's the best)
3. I'm engaged to the best man in the world, Aaron Frankenfield
4. I love cats! Expect many pictures
5. I like to think I'm pretty artistic
6. I'm obsessed with learning new ways to do my hair

Blah blah blah....

So first of all, I'm scared to death of doing my student teaching. I'm scared to death of graduating and starting life as a real world grown up. Yikes.

So anyway, here's a list of things I'm likely to be posting about in the upcoming future:

1. Freaking out about graduating, teaching, failing, etc.
2. Things about hair
3. FOOD!
4. Interesting art projects
5. Just random stuff about my life

By the way, I'm only 22 but I have the mind of a 90 year old. I forget absolutely everything unless I write it down. Hence, the lists.

Ciao!
